Prints

Please scroll down for details of the latest print releases, There was a monthly print release in 2022 following on from the rather successful print releases of Autumn 2021, the plan was for a limited edition print release once a month throughout 2022, sometimes the release would be something new, sometimes something from the past///

We did consider carrying on with a monthly 2023 print release, but no, these things need to be considered properly and well, here we are in june 2023 and there are two new limited edition print releases now…. All the prints still available can be found via the Cultivate online shop

June 2023 – There are two new print releases this month, two print versions of two recent paintings, both 20cm x 20cm prints or if you like seven inch single sized prints (I rather like that). Once again both are a limited signed/numbered edition of 20. a Giclée print on matt finish 300 gram Hahnemühle Fine Art Bamboo paper. In Bloom is a print of a painted based on a Nirvana lyric, the originals painting (now sold) was painted ahead of the recent Flora and Fauna edition of the Art Car Boot Fair. In Which They Innocently Planted... is another recent (now sold) painting from 2023. Both prints can be found via the Cultivate online shop

September’s limited edition release is a print that people have been asking for and as we’re here on September 1st, eleven years on from the very day Cultivate opened and we’re kind of looking back for a moment. This month’s release is a print from a painting made in 2010 and first shown at one of my favourite shows over at the Dissenter’s Chapel in Kensal Green Cemetery West London that year. People have asked to buy the painting itself many times but for some reason I’ve never wanted to part with It, i usually don’t hold on to paintings but this one means something a little extra, not sure what? Maybe things were more hopeful then? Once again the print release is a limited signed/numbered edition of 25. a matt finish Giclée print on 290gms Hahnemühle Fine Art Bamboo paper. Size is 30x38cm (12x15in).

The September limited edition print, “Mare’s Nest” is on sale now via the Cultivate on-line shop. Here’s the original painting and that show I was talking about when I first exhibited the painting back in 2010

Another Daffodil

“Another Daffodil” – limited edition Giclée print (Feb 2022)

I grew up on the isle of Anglesey, North Wales, growing a new daffodil every year was a big part of Junior school with Miss Smith, it has always stuck with me. Every year around this time I find myself painting or drawing daffodils and thinking back. I did this painting in Hackney in 2011, I;ve been asked several times if there was a print

“A Pear in The Hand” – limited edition Giclée print (Jan 2022) SOLD OUT

A new print for January, The plan for 2022, following on from the rather successful print releases of Autumn last year, is for a limited edition print release once a month throughout this new year.  Always a limited edition of 25, signed and numbered, always priced at £35.00 direct from me via the Cultivate online shop (although I expect they’ll be priced a little higher in other galleries, art galleries do have to survive as well, they do have rent to pay, bills to deal with, I have no problem with a gallery taking a fair and reasonable commission)

“A Pear in The Hand” is a painting (acrylic on canvas, 90cm x 55cm x 4cm ) that emerged in the Autumn of last year, a painting that had been quietly evolving throughout the summer of 2021 as fresh layers grew on it. The original painting is currently on show at Storiel Gallery, Bangor, North Wales, a group show called 40+1 that runs from January 22nd until April 2nd 2022, an exhibition focusing on 40 years of the celebrated Art Foundation Course with a selection of ex students work from the 40 years (quite an honour to be one of the invited participants)

The print version of “A Pear in The Hand” is a limited signed/numbered edition of 25. a Giclée print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Bamboo. Size is 25x38cm (10 x 15in).   “Bamboo is the world’s first digital fine art inkjet paper made from bamboo fibres. McQueen

November 2021

Prints are something new for me, I’ve avoided the idea until now. the recent paintings on glossy fashion magazine covers and pages really did demand a print, so yes, there are now prints, first I have ever done. One called McQueen and one called The Queen, both limited editions of 25 and both on sale at £35. (actually I did print rather a lor back in my art student/textile design days, but that is rather old history now)

There is also a third print, so many of you were asking me to do a print of some of the Ten paintings gather together, I always said I wouldn’t but hey, never say never. Once again a limited edition of 25 and once again on sale at £35. I must say, after all the years of saying no, I must confess these prints are rather exciting me.

There is a small number of the prints avaiable via the Cultivate on-line shop. I don’t expect they will be there for too long.

Each of the three prints are limited numbered editions of 25. Hand signed with an “s” on the art and fully signed and numbered at the foot of the art on the front. Lowest number available will be sent.
