Last year started off in a positive way with a month-long #43Leaves piece and 43 paintings left hanging on the streets before the year went rather astray, ten years ago I (rather foolishly) embarked on the first of two year-long #365artdrop pieces, 365 paintings left out on the streets, 365 leaves left out on the streets throughout the year in 2015 for people to just take. There’s been thousands of art drops over the last dozen or so years to more, actually the habit started somewhere in the last century (before we took photos of everything), These pieces are about many things, they’re about recycling, they’re about art engaging, about things beyond the unfriendliness of art galleries, reaching past the gatekeepers, they’re about the people who find the pieces and their part in it all, their stories, about the adventures the paintings go on…
