The January 2022 #43Leaves piece is now complete, the final fifteen paintings went out over the final few days of January. All 43 pieces have now been hing on the street, the final two went out yesterday, the final day of the month. As I said a couple of days ago, these pieces are as much about the people who chose to take them and the places they are hung as they are about the paintings themselves, about the photos other people post on their own social media, about where the pieces go, the hashtag is part of it so my part of the piece is over now, it really is up to those who have taken the paintings to finish it if it isn’t finished already.
And in answer to a rather irate question, no, I don’t knock my own nails in, the pieces are only ever hung on screws or nails that are already there waiting, no damage was done, no walls or pieces of art were harmed, nothing was hammered in, nothing was disrespectfully pasted over and these pieces are really not meant to stay there for too long, most of the time they go within hours, and yes, I am very picky in terms of where I choose to hang them, I did say all this a couple off days ago.
Here’s the images of the most recent drops, the month-long piece is complete in terms of the leaves left out there. I imagine there might be a leaf or two in February, nothing like this formal 43 pieced piece of work though. Now where have the January 43 gone? We know about seven of them, where have the others gone? Use the hashtag people, #43Leaves, post your photos, finish the piece.
