I had been looking at that big Georgian House on Mare Street weeks, well it was a little before the Georgian period, the house was built 1697. but it does look and feel like a Georgian building. The second oldest surviving building in Hackney so it would seem. I did show some work in the house a couple of weeks ago and I did write a couple of pieces for Organ in terms of the Sam Hodge exhibition and the excellent Emily Tracy pieces in the house. That House on Mare Street kind of needed to be a subject in terms of the ongoing series of Skyline paintings.
