And so More Cake? Happened down by the flower market and the colour of East London’s Columbia Road, a simple matter of ten artists coming together to make something happen on our terms. I think we can say it all went rather well, it was certainly eventful, it wasn’t polite, it did get messy, art does excite. I did write a rather substantial piece about the show, the thinking behind it, the art and the artists that you can find over on the Organ website. That was last weekend, this coming weekend it is all over to Crystal Palace, London SE19 an the Secret Salon.
The Secret Salon is something run by artist/curator Andree Adley, the latest show is something called Bloom that happens at a space called Free The Gallery. It looks like it is going ot be a rather busy group show, I’ve been invited to be the featured artist, really not sure what that means, there was a flyer made with just my name on it but we can’t have that, here’s one we made with everyone’s name on there. The event looks like a gloriously do it yourself artist-led affair which is why I said yes. It opens on Friday evening, Friday March 15th, 6.30pn until 8.30pm and then on Saturday 16th there is an art market with stalls and such from midday until 5pm, and then the exhibition goes on on the Sunday, Midday until 4pm at which point we shall scurry back over the river to East London…
The Secret Salon presents Bloom – 15th to 17th March. Opening night Friday 15th 6.30pm and then open Saturday and Sunday 16th/17th March Midday to 5pm on Saturday, to 4pm Sunday at Free the Gallery, Haynes Lane, Crystal Police, London SE19 3AN
I expect there will be soem #43Leaves drops in the area over the weekend…
