“Bagged”, a series of paintings on unwanted found recycled (you might say upcycled) fashion bags. They were there on the street, just thrown away, a collection of them, and well if things are just going to be wasted without a thought (not even put in the recycling bin, that is a touch depressing) then leaves are going to grow on them. So I found and painted on 21 of them, painted them in July 2024 and said there might be more. Indeed, more were painted in August 2024, I expect this will go on. I find a touch of pleasure in painting on things that are heading for landfill… I showed some of them in a show in Crystal Palace last month, there will be more bags (and shows), I like to repeat things, I do like a series, here are the latest five found and painted bags…
