Three more Spring paintings emerged yesterday, once again on that found unwanted (already recycled) handmade paper found left in the street last week.
These current pieces are being painted on found A6 150gms handmade cotton rag paper. It was already 100percent recycled paper, a package of 20 sheets found unopened and in a bag full of art paper left on the street by a rubbish bin in Hackney (along with a strange stringed musical instrument, the original typed manuscript for a play and some rather good quickly made paintings) Already recycled paper being recycled a little more.
Meanwhile the white daisy in the latest three paintings was rescued from the jaws of a bin lorry with about 40 other plants that were about to be chewed up at the end of last Sunday’s Columbia Road Flower Market here in East London. The plants are now at the studio and slowly leaving to find new homes in other people’s gardens, as are these latest Spring paintings (well the paintings are hopefully not going to be in other people’s gardens).
The three pieces painted yesterday, number 6, 7 and 8, have already sold, you can still find a couple from earlier this week via the online shop, and there will be more today I expect, keep an eye on my social media, images are usually posted on Instagram and Facebook first.
I still have 12 pieces of that rather beautiful handmade paper, the Spring series is to be continued today….
