On the cusp of midsummer, the full series of those Spring paintings documented…

“Spring (No.19)” – Acrylic on A6 handmade 150gms cotton rag paper, May 2025

There never is time to document everything, too busy doing to be documenting the doings. This series of twenty pieces were being painted (and drawn) on found A6 150gms handmade cotton rag paper. It was already 100percent recycled paper, a package of 20 sheets found unopened and in a bag full of art paper left on the street by a rubbish bin in Hackney (along with a strange stringed musical instrument, an original typed manuscript for a play and some rather good quickly made paintings) These pieces are painted on already recycled paper that had been recycled a little more, they were painted in April and the first days of May, a series of Spring pieces and here we are on the day before the Summer Solstice catching up with the documenting and thinking about Midsummer paintings and just enjoying the texture of the paper and exploring how it reacts with the paint or the ink…

Most of the Spring pieces have been sold now, those that are left can be found via the Cultivate Gallery online shop
