Well we made it through the first six months. It was half a year ago this week that we took on what was originally going to be just a six month stay in our Vyner Street art space. We’ve enjoyed life on our corner, it has been tough at times, a constant battle in terms of survival and trying to run a gallery our way. For those of you who don’t know, Cultivate is an artist-run space, our plan has always been to try and run a gallery on our terms right in the middle of what is now the London art establishment and what must be the main gallery street in East London. We’ve experienced quite a lot in a very packed, very busy six months…
Six months is not enough, we need to carry on, we need to take this on through the summer and experience a whole year of standing on our corner, pimping art, dreaming up new shows, throwing out questions and running a gallery our way.. to stop after just six months would be to not take our cultivation to any kind of conclusion, there’s a lot to be done with Cultivate this coming spring and summer…
