#365ArtDrop18 – 60/365, a leaf left hanging in Shoreditch, East London. April 2018

“The sun is out, ha ha!” to paraphrase the (alleged) final words of someone who understood the beauty of light and the vitality of paint.  And with the sun out (for now at least), the year-long piece of work that is the #365ArtDrop18 piece can start to gather a little more  momentum.  A piece of work in 365 parts, 365 paintings on found recycled material picked up off the street, from skips, save from landfill, painted on an then hung back out there in the streets for people to take should they wish to. There have now been 60 painting left out there, the latest pieces were hung last weekend on the walls of the fast disappearing beautiful things that just about still is Hackney Wick. The cultural cleansing and destruction of community in the Wick. I expect the dropping (or the carefully hanging) of pieces to increase as the weather improves.
