“The Penistone Line No.3 – Woodhead Ghosts” – ( December 2019) – Acrylic on canvas, 20cm x 20cm. A ghost from the Woodhead tunnel.

The bit between the Solstice (and the evening at Crossbones with the Winchester Geese and the other outcasts) and the new year was mostly spent revisiting an old railway line, Dwell Time spent you might say, digging through old sketch books, playing with ideas, ghosts. A series of new paintings, all one off pieces, acrylic on Canvas, all 20cm x 20cm. Four new Skyline pieces, the latest four of the current Skyline series of paintings that have been flowing since the end of summer 2019. These are four new paintings made in the final week of December, from some old drawings and such, A Ghost From The Woodhead Tunnel does reference an old electric locomotive, an old Class 77 or EM2 if that kind of information is needed, the now closed Woodhead Tunnel. Anyway, four new paintings before the year ends with work on a bigger piece to see the Roaring Twenties in here in the studio in East London. It has been a busy year, paintings have travelled all over the globe, they get to travel far more than I do…
