A new painting on a found canvas, there is always a new painting. This canvas was found with a unfinished half-hearted painting of a tree on it, and, as we all know, a canvas can’t be wasted. There is a particular pleasure in recycling a canvas and making use of the marks others have made. There was a great texture on the canvas already (although there wasn’t much of a painting on there jsut a half finished brown and grey looking tree. that looked like it had been given up on). Material can’t be wasted like that, recycling and reusing is a big part of what i do here, Id far rather paint on a recycled canvas than a new one.
