“Two Pears From a North London Tree” – Acrylic on canvas, 20cm x 20cm x 1cm (November 2022) – A still life study of two pears picked from a tree in North London a couple of days ago. Another of the still ongoing fruit and vegetable paintings, the “Fruit Shop Paintings” – something that started with the Ridley Road Lemon back in 2019 and has taken me to a market stall full of paintings, an actual old East London Greengrocers shop for a solo Fruit Shop show and, a Fruit stall at the Art Car Boot Fair a couple of years ago, and onward it goes. These Pears came from a very full tree in Islington, North London, from a an actress’s tree actually.
