…I did kind of get hung up on the idea that the 43rd piece was coming up, the 42nd arived on July 21st, an interpretation on Peter Hammill’s X My Heart. Last night the 43rd and the 44th paintings in the series were painted…

“Over My Shoulder – Electric Painting No.44” – Acrylic on canvas, 20x20x1cm (July 2026) – The ongoing matter of painting electric paintings, interpretations of album covers painting urgently during the time it takes to play the album (very loudly) just once. This 44th painting in a series that started back in 2022 is a take or indeed a taking on of the intensity that is Peter Hammill’s 1977 album “Over”, a 46 minute album from the Van Der Graaf Generator frontman which really didn’t give me that much time to take it on but then that is the point; to just do it, quickly, to react, to not think about it. The latest in the still ongoing series of fast interpretations of album covers painted in the time it takes to play the album in question just once. This one is a play on the rather excellent debut Big Country album

“Amnesiac – Electric Painting No.42” (July 2026) – Acrylic on canvas, 20x20x1cm – the 42nd in the still ongoing series of Electric Paintings, fast interpretations of rather electric album covers painted while playing the album (very loudly) just once. This Peter Hammill album, X My Heart, an album from 1996 allowed 50 minutes of painting time. Once the end of the album was reached then the painting had to finish. Just the pure pleasure of a very loud album and paint and no time to mess around or think about it, just a reaction..
