Last gallery outing of the year then, well I expect it is, unless something happens to happen before the end of the year happens (nothing is over until it is actually over). This Friday evening then, Friday December 12th, at 6pm until 9pm, the Artists’ Xmas Bazaar, opens at the rather inviting Angus Hughes Gallery. Lots of artists, lots of art, and a rather relaxed way to end a busy year of art making and exhibiting
ARTIST XMAS BAZAAR at the Angus-Hughes Gallery, London, E5.
Open night is Friday 12th December, 6pm until 9pm and the event will run daily, 12 – 6pm, until Sunday afternoon December 21st
I Shall have number of canvas pieces at the bazaar, some reasonably sized canvas pieces, some that have had new layers growing on them since they were last seen. There’s a set of ten hand painted and hand screen printed cards that will be on sale at £3 each. Pieces on found wood, pieces on canvas….
Artists’ Xmas Bazaar – “As a challenge the gallery is asking artists to make work that can be sold between £3 and £60, it is a reaction against the high costs of xmas, and how impersonal it has become. The work will not necessarily have to have an xmas feel, it just needs to be something that someone would like to receive, Work will be hung on the wall and there will be two trestle tables for artist’s books and misc items. Expect lots of gift-flavoured creativity in the shape of original paintings, prints, cards, zines, drawings, “multiples in any medium to sell inexpensively” Expect art on sale in multiples of three, all about the threes like it is on the tree… art prices at £6, £9, £12, £15, £18, £21 all the up to £60….
