Dropping into July, leaves, growth, Redchurch Street, rabbits, stars…..

#365ArtDrops Part 149
#365ArtDrops Part 149

July is here and we’re really into the meat of this year-long #365ArtDrops piece of work now, the 150th piece of the drop was left hanging on a wall in evening sunshine of Redchurch Street, East London yesterday, a bigger piece (80cm x 40cm) painted on a frame found in a skip a couple of years ago.  I’m told the piece wasn’t hanging on Rivington Street for long before someone took it, who knows who? Where did it go? Who has it? What has become of it? Some of them hang about, some of them go very quickly, some of them we never hear about again, some we see photos of with the people who find them (which is an important part of it all), sometimes they turn up on ebay, sometimes…. well who knows? Hang on, Stop Press, news, part #150 was taken off the wall by someone called George and now is in Worthing, Sussex, excellent news, thank you George.

#365ArtDrops Part 150

Last night four pieces were left around East London, parts 148, 149, 150 and 118. A piece can’t go out until I’m somewhere near happy enough with it, and so part 118 didn’t go out until an extra blue leaf had grown on it, it went out last night, hung on a nail on Rivington Street, Shoreditch next to some Pez smiles (I find myself constantly looking for nails, hooks and such as I walk the streets now).  Part 118 and part 150 are both pieces that I’ve been painting new layers on all year, Part 149 was a far more spontaneous painting and found itself a wall that already had some stars to keep it company. I do consider every placement, it isn’t random, been waiting for the greenery to flourish next ot that Roa Rabbit for a couple of months.  Where will today’s be? Will it be today? There’s a number of parts (both big and small) ready to go here, maybe today? Maybe tomorrow near the Hang With Us show I shall be taking part in over in Leyton, London E10, (see the events page for more details of that one, lots of artists coming together for a good cause on the opening day of the Leytonstone Arts Trail)
