It can’t always be about stars, sometimes it is about stripes as well, sometimes it is about wondering just what the hell is going on.  Two new paintings then, two new comments or questions to whatever you want to make of them

Two paintings that might just be pop art and a respectful nod towards the much admired work of Jasper Johns and the strength of what should be a very strong image (the idea of the Stars and Stripeds and what it stands for or what it is meant to stand for surely is a positve image?), or maybe as 2020 contimues to evolve and get worse and we watch and ask why people are still saying “I can’t breathe” and we’re learning about poople like Jacob Blake in the same way as we got to learn about George Floyd and we look on in some kind of state of disbelief as Trump twitters again and teemage kids walk around with giant guns, shooot people and are treated as heross. What is going on?
