October’s new paintings – stripes, layers, the ongoing matter of the Ten paintings…

Where were we? Two days in to October and the fading daylight of Autumn, three paintings into the month, all of them were underway way before October got here of, all three were concluded this month, including the latest two Ten paintings – this series is becoming a little too much of an obsession now, here’s the 82nd and 83rd in the still ongoing series (both have just been posted in the Cultivare on-line shop) . The piece up above is a new painting – Fringements – Stripes 12″ (October 2020) – Acrylic, gloss varnish on canvas, 20cm x 20cm x 1cm – a painting that features many layers of paint, stripe upon stripe, paint on paint, the pleasure of paint, a painting that has been evolving over the last six weeks or so here in the studio.

“Ten:82 (Allowed)” – 1st October 2020 – Acrylic on canvas, 10cm x 10cm x 1cm – The ongoing matter of a daily concluded painting, always on a 10cm square canvas and always offered at a price of ten pounds, all about the ten.
