“Count Them All” (November 2020) – Acrylic on canvas, 18x24cm – A new painting once again completed while half watching rolling news coverage of the US election in the early hours of the morning and you do kind of expect better from a US president but then this is the Trump administration we’re talking about, is there anything worse? Well besides the Boris administration over here obviously, I can’t even think about that horror in terms of painting… it is of course on sale, every painting has a price. The stars are loose, it is about the imperfection, the layer over layer and doing of it all, the imperfection of spontanious paint – “you can’t even paint properly” he said, why would I want to? said I. I painted “perfectly” when I was 14, I painted honestly when I was 6, if you ever catch me trying to paint “perfectly” again do feel free to take my brushes and paints away.
