The weekend was mostly about painting the delicious plums that are falling off the trees right now here in East London, Haggerston Park is full of them, different colours of different trees. That and the Pomegranate from Green Lanes and a Petunia or two. . It goes on, it always goes on. Someone said I paint too much, that I should be less productive, it doesn’t work like that though, it isn’t about a marketing plan or “product”, oh how I hate that word, there is no bigger turn off than hearing someone describe their art, their paintings, the music they make as “product” (I got into an argument about that with a musician who talked of his product on Sunday evening). in the last few weeks I’ve had gallery people telling me to paint less, telling me to charge more, it simply doesn’t work like that.  This weekend was about plums…
