On the forty-second day of the year it was mostly about preparing fresh growth and new layers for the forty-third day…
Thorns, some of them have thorns, forty-two days into what has so far been a busy. year. Today, on the forty-second day of the year it was mostly about preparing fresh growth and new layers for the forty-third day.
#43 follows on from last year’s #365ArtDrops piece. #43 will consist of 43 pieces of work, parts of the piece will take the form of art drops, pieces to be hung and left on the street on Friday 12th February, the forty-third day of the year, some of them will be exhibited over the weekend on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th at a place or places to be announced via social media late on Friday evening. All 43 pieces are once again painted on found things, things picked up off the streets, skips and such and recycled. Some on wood or marine ply, some in found frames, some on discarded canvas, some on canvas stitched back together with scars on show. Nothing besides the paint has been bought, everything has been found, things thrown out and considered no longer of use, found and recycled, fresh layers grown on them…. The pieces will start to be released tomorrow, the forty-third day of the year, some will be hung and left for people to take should they wish, others will be for sale at a price of £43 per piece.
