“Ready To Start A Fire” – the first work of 2019, a (spontaneous)  installation of leaves, a fire waiting to be lit, Nomadic Community Gardens, East London, January 1st 2019.. The new year started with the conclusion of the year-long #365ArtDrop18 that started on January 1st 2018. A number of leaves grew, the year started out on the streets of East London. I don’t really like to impose with my art, I don’t like it to be too permanent, I don’t tend to paint walls (these days), I like to leave paintings and things for things for people to take, or in this case burn, I like ot paint on things people don’t want, things that people have thrown out, things that people are preparing to burn.

Four of the last leaves of 2018

2018 was very busy, there probably won’t be anything as intense as the year-long art drop and the 365 paintings, it will be just as busy, just as productive. The first gallery show will open on January 17th over in Dalston where East London meets North London, a group show under the Cultivate banner, a show called Attract, more on that in a couple of days, for now things are ready to be lit up, here we go with 2019, happy new year everyone…
