All the drawing and painting on the fronts of unwanted found books so far, only of the covers though, the books in question are still perfectly readable. An old book can be a beautiful thing, the dog-eared corners, the name of the previous owners written inside, the yellowing pages, the graphics on the front. These books have all been rescued from skips, found in strange places, one was left in a wall, the old art books were being thrown away after not selling at a flea market, all of them seeming at the end of their lives and unwanted (even the relatively new Nick Cave book with a torn dust cover found in a recycling bin in East London). I just like these old books, the way they look and feel, the way they smell, I love finding them and hopefully, extending their lives a little more…
